You're How Old?...

I have found a GREAT new site for Digi stamps.  I am talking a TON of freebies!!
Create with TLC         You have got to check this site out!
When I saw this freebie I knew I was going to HAVE to use it...
We are celebrating a Birthday this coming Saturday and I needed a masculine card.
Here is what I came up with:
For the card design I followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 105 from The Sweetest Thing Blog
Join in and play along!
For this card I used paper, vellum and ribbon from my stash.  I have been trying to use up bits and pieces that I have to make room for new purchases!

Baby Boy Owl Card

I was asked to make a card for a family that is expecting a baby boy this week.  I was told the family is going with an Owl theme for the nursery so this was my starting point.  See what I came up with...

I forgot to take a photo of the inside but I used the same papers and buttons.
All the paper was from my stash as was the hemp and buttons.  I paper pieced the owl using a free digi stamp from Dustin Pike.

My First Card Challenge

So I decided I was going to start taking part in some card making challenges.  I figured I ought to put my card making to some use...  I am notorious for never sending the cards I make so at least if I make them and enter them in some challenges they get some purpose to them other than just collecting dust.  I sat down last night and drew myself a calendar for the month of February and started marking challenge due dates on it.  Fingers crossed that I follow through and actually take part in one or two.

The first challenge that I created a card for was over on Tiffany Johnson's blog http://tiffguam.com/

I decided to turn the sketch sideways and create a 'Hey Diddle Diddle' type card.

Here is what I came up with:

Hope you like it...
